Love Your Neighbor Ministries exists to equip
the church to reach out in compassion to people in care settings . . .
including hospitals, nursing homes, retirement communities, hospice care and
private homes. Our purpose is "Equipping Churches for Ministries of
Compassion." Dwight Kinman founded LYN Ministries in the Tacoma Washington area
where he assumed the Protestant chaplaincy of three local hospitals. Chaplain
Kinman and his wife subsequently broadened the scope of their outreach to
include nursing homes and other healthcare facilities. In 1975, LYN Ministries
was incorporated as a non-profit organization with an expanding outreach
including both career chaplaincy and volunteer ministries.
